| The description of the regional strengths is an important basis for further activities (economic models, supporting programmes, ..) beginning with the chosen clusters. Professional marketing and in general market knowledge is not state of the art in most of the SME´s. The analyses of new markets should help them for more professional market accessibility. The study will be a first result for a market place tool to the alpine core economies |
There weren’t enough figures available to compare with from the market. And not enough data on the market so the method and the strategy for the analysis has to be changed. With a SWOT analysis for the chosen clusters, a common basis could be found and the link to WP 8, strengthened. |

| (Tyrol) Identification of core-economies to find out the strengths of each participating region. Analyses of potentials for innovation and cooperation in clusters and SMEs, finding out the needs, problems and main obstacles for SMEs in realising innovation and co-operation as a base for creating the right instruments to support SMEs. The analysis is divided into four main parts: - Definition of core sectors (Transnational) - Statistic survey (Regional) - Expert interviews (Regional) - Summary of the results, Interpretation (All) Each partner analyses the core economy fields in his region with the help of experts. Existing data was used as well as results of a pre-analysis. This gives an overview for the participating organisations. In the second step every partner tried to find out special needs and obstacles for innovation and cooperation in the defined fields. Existing and also new data were developed. In an expert group (different process in the different regions) the parameters of the analyses were defined to evaluate the results. |
(Tyrol) With the study the status quo obstacles and needs of SME’s for the future are identified - overview about common problems and future potentials concerning innovation and cooperation potential. - there is a strong connection to politics and special funding programmes - market is changing very quickly – needs development, costs and Know-how - one of the biggest needs in fthe uture will be searching for suitable and skilled workers for the company - networks and cooperation are needed but hard to develop - the opinion of future business is quiet positive - marketing and distribution is mainly made classically The study is a first result for a marketplace tool for Alpine core economies. Survey commissioned, research report available, numbers in Vorarlberg regarding timber and energy, SWAT questions have been formulated for Vorarlberg. |
(Tyrol) The work of each partner (statistic analyses, expert interviews and interpretation of the data) caused a delay of 6 months! The WP responsibility was very hard because of this delay, but the responsible partner managed the final study and the reporting in less time, so the accumulated delay was only 3 months. (CIPRA) Interviews could not be carried out in Liechtenstein (Piemonte) Little delay in sending the survey on the forest chains in Regione Piemonte to Tyrol due to procedural and methodological misunderstandings between the two PPs |
